Simcenter FloEFD 2512 (released December 2025) introduces major improvements in geometry sealing for internal flow simulations, optical scattering models, and coupled fluid-thermal-structural simulations, along with workflow enhancements for electronics cooling and compatibility with other Siemens tools.

1. Geometry Sealing for Internal Flow

• Fill thin slots enhancement: Now includes the option “Fill within slots and openings” to simplify sealing of complex geometries for internal flow analysis.
• This reduces manual pre-processing time and improves accuracy in CFD simulations.

2. Optics & Radiation

• Henyey–Greenstein phase function: Added for optical scattering, enabling more realistic modeling of light propagation in semi-transparent or scattering media.
• Useful for LED lighting, displays, and optical component design.

3. Coupled Fluid–Thermal–Structural Simulations

• New capability to directly couple fluid, thermal, and structural domains within FloEFD.
• This allows engineers to evaluate thermal stresses and deformations alongside fluid flow and heat transfer.

4. Electronics Cooling Enhancements

• Two-resistor models: Faster calculations for component-level thermal analysis.
• Improved workflows for electronics thermal analysis, making it easier to simulate PCB and IC cooling scenarios.

• FloThermXT projects compatibility: FloEFD for CATIA can now import FloThermXT projects.
