MSC Nastran

Nastran is finite element analysis (FEA) software created and developed for NASA in the late 1960s under US government funding for the aerospace industry.

MSC Nastran is a commercial Nastran product developed by Dr. Richard MacNeal in 1963. MSC Nastran is commonly used to perform structural analysis. Although used in every industry, it is still specialized for the majority of the aeronautical and automotive industries to perform stress calculations and strain analysis of component and system level structural models.
