What is new in SketchUp Pro 2027

SketchUp Pro 2027 was released in October 2026 and introduces several significant workflow improvements focused on faster modeling, better documentation, and improved interoperability.

Key New Features in SketchUp Pro 2027

1. Procedural Modeling Tools

SketchUp now includes Procedures, a non-destructive modeling system. Operations such as Follow Me, selected Solid Tools, and the new Copy Along tool remain editable after creation. You can modify paths, profiles, spacing, and other inputs without rebuilding geometry from scratch.

2. New Copy Along Tool

A new tool for creating repeated groups or components along a path, with editable parameters and procedural behavior.

3. Section Fill Hatch Patterns

Section cuts can now display vector-based hatch patterns, making construction documents and technical drawings much clearer. Hatch settings can be managed through a new Hatch Patterns interface

4. Unified Windows and macOS Interface

SketchUp and LayOut now provide a more consistent interface across Windows and Mac, including similar workspace customization and toolbar behavior.

5. Multiple Documents in One Session

You can open and work with multiple SketchUp models in a single application instance using tabs and floating windows, making comparisons and content transfers easier

6. Faster Hidden Line Rendering

A redesigned Hidden Line Rendering (HLR) engine significantly improves performance when generating vector linework, particularly for complex models and LayOut documents.

7. AutoFit Live Components

Live Components can automatically configure themselves to fit the surface where they are placed, reducing manual adjustments.

8. Improved BIM and CAD Interoperability

Enhanced support for:

• DWG/DXF import and export controls
• IFC workflows
• TrimBIM compatibility
• USD format support

These improvements help move models more reliably between SketchUp and other design platforms.

9. Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS)
