New Modeling Tools
Alias 2025 provides several general modeling updates, including the new Bridge Fillet and Gap Check tools, the new Custom Puck, as well as Corner Blend improvements.
New Custom Puck
Alias 2025 introduces the Custom Puck, which provides a new way for new and expert users to access frequently used tools, editors, menu items, and navigation controls. The puck is fully customizable, allowing you to add and organize tools for your needs.
User Interface Improvements
We’ve made several docking enhancements, more intuitive Hide and Show options for windows and palettes, as well as a new New Copy Window to Clipboard feature.
Universal Scene Description (USD) File Format Support
Alias 2025 introduces USD (Universal Scene Description) as an additional file import and export format. Use the USD format to improve your data interoperability and make your collaborative work easier.
New Bridge Fillet Tool
We’ve added a new Bridge Fillet tool that lets you build circular fillets between three surfaces or sets of surfaces with tangent continuity to all three. These can be automatically trimmed to create a continuous flow of surfaces.
New Gap Check Tool
A new Gap Check tool lets you measure gaps between selected surfaces. The tool uses a guide curve to measure the gap between surfaces, and then displays the maximum and minimum gap values on a comb locator.
Corner Blend Tool Enhancements
Corner Blend now includes a new Base Curve Type option, which lets you specify how the fourth edge of the corner blend gets built. In previous versions, the forth edge was generated using a curve fillet. Now, you have the choice of building it using a freeform blend curve, using the new Freeform option.
Updates to Alias Dynamo
We’ve provided several new Dynamo Player sample scripts, including new mirroring scripts, more advanced patterning scripts, and more. Improvements have also been made to the Dynamo Toolbox to make scripts easier to locate.
Checkpoint Improvements and New Increment Save
We’ve reworked the Checkpoint Autosave window to make it easier to manage iterations of your model. A new Increment Save feature provides a way to quickly save files incrementally with your customized naming conventions.
Shader Lister Improvements
We’ve made provided some quick-access updates to the Shader Lister to speed up your shading workflow. These improvements include:
Markup Brush Updates
We’ve added a Predictive Stroke option to all Markup brushes and erasers. This option improves the quality of your strokes by making them more uniform and smooth. It’s especially useful when drawing straight lines, circles, or ellipses, and when drawing quickly using a mouse.
CATIA and FBX Import Improvements
We’ve added the Replace Shaders by Name option to CATIA V5 and FBX file format imports. This option works the same way with these formats as it does with .wire file imports. Replace Shaders by Name allows you to replace incoming shaders with shaders that are in the currently set User Library Location.

Alias 2025 provides newly supported import and export file format versions.
